Marc Jaffe is a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, where he has practiced since 1993. Mr. Jaffe is Co-Chair of the firm’s global Capital Markets group and the former Vice-Chairman of the firm's global Corporate Department. His practice centers on corporate finance and general securities and corporate matters. His clients include US and foreign investment banks, New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq-listed companies, non-US corporations, private equity funds and mezzanine investment funds.
Mr. Jaffe has substantial experience representing issuers, investment banking firms and investors in public and private debt and equity offerings and lending transactions of all kinds in a broad range of industries, including: entertainment, financial services, gaming, hospitality, manufacturing, energy, media and telecommunications, technology and retail. He has also represented investment banks, companies and investors in all manner of other engagements, including: exchange offers, tender offers and consent solicitations, restructurings, bridge lending and loan commitments and other financing transactions.
Mr. Jaffe was selected as a recommended attorney in Securities and Capital Markets Law by The Best Lawyers in America (2012). He was also named one of the leading capital markets lawyers in the United States in the 2011 Legal 500 guide, with the guide noting; “[he is] a real leader in the field,” and recognized for his “vast knowledge” and “wealth of experience.” He was also ranked as one of the leading capital markets lawyers in the 2011 Chambers & Partners guide.
Mr. Jaffe serves on the Securities Regulation Committee of the Bar of the City of New York and is a frequent speaker on securities law-related topics.
Mr. Jaffe is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
