Linda O. Smiddy

Linda O. Smiddy is Professor of Law at Vermont Law School, where she also has served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Before becoming a professor, she practiced law with, among other firms, Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and she clerked for J.S. Holden, the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Vermont. Professor Smiddy is a former Vermont Commissioner to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform Laws, and a member of the American Law Institute, and she has chaired a number of important committees relating to corporate law, including the Committee to Revise Vermont’s Business Corporation Law. She is the recipient of an honorary doctor of laws degree from the University of Paris.
