Laurie Gilbertson is a Program Attorney responsible for developing and organizing litigation programs. Prior to joining PLI she was an Assistant District Attorney in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted serious criminal cases, including armed robberies, homicides, sex crimes, and organized crime. During her tenure in the DA’s Office, Laurie tried more than forty felony jury trials to verdict, presented hundreds of cases to the Grand Jury, and successfully briefed and argued appeals in the Appellate Division. She has also worked as a regulatory attorney at the NASD (now FINRA). She appears as a guest legal analyst on Court TV and various television news outlets. Laurie graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Government and received her J.D. cum laude from American University, Washington College of Law. Laurie is admitted to practice in New York and to the US Supreme Court.
