Lauren E. Aguiar

Lauren Aguiar is a litigation partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. She has represented clients, as both plaintiffs and defendants, in a broad range of matters, including intellectual property disputes, breach of contract and fiduciary duty litigation, joint venture and partnership disputes, and shareholder class actions. Some of the more significant cases and trials in which she recently has been involved include: representing Fresh Del Monte Produce as plaintiff in a successful jury trial in the Southern District of New York involving false advertising and breach of contract claims; member of the trial team in federal and state class action litigation for a global automobile manufacturer regarding widely-publicized vehicle recalls; representing Impax Laboratories in expedited litigation in federal court regarding breach of a pharmaceutical license and distribution agreement; defending Verizon Wireless in federal court in a false advertising matter; and defending MGA in the Mattel v. MGA Entertainment three-month jury trial, a $1.8 billion case involving federal copyright infringement and various state claims.  Ms. Aguiar serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest; the Board of Directors of Covenant House International; and also is the Chair of the Skadden Foundation.
