Laura M. Holm is a shareholder in the Corporate Practice Group at Akerman Senterfitt in Fort Lauderdale.
Ms. Holm has expertise in SEC compliance and corporate governance matters and has served as outside general counsel to several public companies. In addition, Ms. Holm practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and private equity and has represented strategic and financial participants in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations and joint venture transactions.
Ms. Holm was recently selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2013 in the field of Corporate (Copyright 2012 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC). She has also been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Florida by Florida Trend magazine from 2006-2012 and the South Florida Legal Magazine from 2010-2012. She was awarded an AV rating (the highest level) by Martindale-Hubbell. Ms. Holm received her B.A. from Amherst College and her law degree from the University of Chicago.
Ms. Holm served as a director of QEP Co, Inc., a public company, and is active with WCD, a membership organization for women corporate directors. She is active in several venture capital groups in Florida and nationally, including the Gulf Coast Venture Forum in Naples, Florida.
