As the Director for Government-wide Acquisition Policy at the General Services Administration (GSA) and Chair of the Civilian Agency Acquisition Council (CAAC), Laura Auletta leads the civilian agencies in developing the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The FAR governs more than $500 billion in annual procurement spending. Previously, Ms. Auletta worked at the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) where she was responsible for competition, intellectual property, and supply chain policy. She was also the OFPP lead for the OMB implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Before joining OFPP, she was the Executive Director for the Acquisition Advisory Panel established by Section 1423 of the Services Acquisition Reform Act (SARA) of 2003 and the Contract Policy Director at GSA.
Ms. Auletta began her federal service as an intern with the Department of Defense (DoD) and was a Contracting Officer working in major program source selection and contract administration for the Air Force, Navy and DoD intelligence communities.
A graduate of Arizona State University, Ms. Auletta holds degrees in Economics and Political Science.
