Larry Levy is Counsel in Bracewell & Giuliani's New York office where he works with the White Collar Criminal Defense and Special Investigations practice, leveraging a rich blend of skills developed over 35 years as a prosecutor, Inspector General and litigator in New York City; and representation of government officials, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, political committees, and corporations in regulatory and white collar matters in private practice. Mr. Levy also works with the Ethics and Political Law group representing candidates, companies, political committees and individuals interested in participating in the political processes of government.
Mr. Levy served as Chief Counsel to the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee and has counseled candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as candidates seeking office in New York State. Mr. Levy has counseled non profit and for profit corporations regarding compliance with a variety of regulatory matters including fundraising, campaign finance, the permissible limits of issue advocacy and express advocacy, lobbying, government contracting, and ethics at both the federal and state levels.
Mr. Levy's City Government service included: Deputy Counsel to Mayor Giuliani from 1997 though 2001; Special or Senior Litigating Corporation Counsel and Inspector General on the Executive Staff of the Corporation Counsel's Office from 1982 through 1997; and Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County for 5 years.
He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law and at St. John's University School of Law for eight years. Larry has also been a panelist or lecturer in a variety of continuing legal education programs focusing on advanced trial skills, ethics, conflicts of interests and election law.
