Kevin Blauch is a senior partner in the New York Office of Latham & Watkins LLP. Mr. Blauch's practice focuses primarily on all aspects of structured finance, including representation of depositors/issuers, underwriters/initial purchasers, and originators/sellers of commercial mortgage loans in a wide range of commercial mortgage-backed securitization transactions (CMBS), re-REMICS  and A/B mortgage loan structures.  He has handled matters involving most of the household names in CMBS. Since 2008, Mr. Blauch has worked in the commercial mortgage loan workout area, including bankruptcy and insolvency matters involving real estate and CMBS in particular. For example, he represented the special servicer in the Extended Stay Hotels bankruptcy proceeding. He has advised numerous  non-CMBS lenders on the practicalities of the CMBS market and how to enter and respond to that market. Mr. Blauch also represents organizations, particularly financial institutions, that face internal issues and investigations. In that capacity, he has advised management, boards of directors, and professional advisors and investors. Under Mr. Blauch's leadership, the Latham & Watkins CMBS group has ranked second among law firms (as underwriter's counsel) and third among law firms (as issuer's counsel) in the number of CMBS deals done in recent years. Mr. Blauch was recognized for his work in securitization in the Legal 500 US guide and his name regularly appears in Chambers Global and Chambers USA.
