Katie Lachter is an attorney in the national Lawyers Professional Responsibility/Risk Management Practice at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. Ms. Lachter is a frequent writer and presenter on issues related to attorney ethics. She is the Secretary of the Bar of the City of New York's Committee on Professional Ethics, a member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, and a faculty member at the Practicing Law Institute. Ms. Lachter is a 2012 recipient of the Burton Award for distinguished legal writing. She practices in the firm's New York office.
Ms. Lachter was admitted to the New York State bar in 2004. She was a law clerk to the Hon. Bruce W. Kauffman, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, from 2003-2004. She is a 2003 cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and a 2000 summa cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College.
