Julie Divola is head of the tax practice group for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP’s San Francisco office. She is experienced in federal income tax planning for business and financial transactions. Her practice focuses on corporate and partnership taxation with particular emphasis on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.
Julie is active in the ABA Section of Taxation, where she serves as a Council Director and where she formerly served as chair of the Corporate Tax Committee and as a member of the Nominating Committee. She currently serves as co-chair for the ALI-ABA annual Course of Study on Corporate Taxation, as a member of the advisory board of the New York University Institute on Federal Taxation, as a member of the Wolters Kluwer Legal Tax Advisory Board, and as a member of the editorial board of the Practical Tax Lawyer.
Julie teaches Corporate Tax as a Visiting Professor at the UC Davis School of Law. She also has taught Tax Policy as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Francisco School of Law. She serves as Secretary for the BASIC Fund(Bay Area Scholarships for Inner-City Children) and as a director for the van Löben Sels/RembeRock Foundation (a nonprofit social justice organization).
