Joseph Greenwood is a Managing Director and the Head of Special Situations at Livingstone Partners LLC, an international investment banking boutique with over 60 professionals in Beijing, Chicago, Düsseldorf, London, and Madrid.  Livingstone provides advisory services to both healthy and distressed middle market companies with regard to merger and acquisition (M&A) and capital raising transactions.

Joseph began his career with KPMG LLP where he spent seven years - the majority within the firm's corporate recovery practice (subsequently acquired by Mesirow Financial). As a vice president in KPMG's corporate recovery practice, Joseph provided financial and restructuring advisory services to public and private companies, key secured and unsecured creditors, debtor-in-possession lenders, and creditors' committees.

After earning an MBA with high distinction from The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Joseph joined William Blair & Company, where he was one of three founding members of that firm's Special Situations and Restructuring practice.  Since then, Joseph has spent his entire career executing distressed M&A and capital raise transactions for middle market businesses. From William Blair, Joseph joined Livingstone Partners to lead their special situations practice. 

Over the course of his career, Joseph has successfully completed over 45 transactions involving complex financial restructurings and has been involved as investment banker and/or financial advisor to a diverse group of debtors and creditors in the chapter 11 cases of many companies, including, Hartmarx Corporation, Robbins Bros. Corporation, Renew Energy LLC, Key Lime Cove Resorts, Waterworks Holding Corp., American IronHorse Motorcycles, Inc., Diamond Glass Companies, Inc., Gateway Ethanol, Inc., Budget Group, Inc., Kmart Corp. and UAL Corporation.  Joseph's extensive transaction experience includes section 363 sales, UCC Article 9 sales, assignments for the benefit of creditors, forbearance agreements, debt-for-equity swaps, and other negotiated balance sheet restructurings on behalf of his clients. 

Joseph holds a BBA in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA with high distinction from Georgetown University. Joseph is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and frequently serves as a guest lecturer for the Advanced Restructurings and Turnarounds class at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
