John F. Delaney

John F. Delaney is a partner in the New York office of Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he leads the office's Technology Transactions Group.  Mr. Delaney advises clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to early-stage start-ups on a wide range of complex technology law issues, including digital content distribution arrangements, software development and licensing agreements, privacy and data security practices, outsourcing transactions and joint venture relationships.

As a co-founder of the firm's Social Media practice, Mr. Delaney also advises clients on the rapidly evolving law of social media, including application of the DMCA and CDA safe harbors, online data collection, the enforceability of online "Terms of Use," the drafting of social media policies and guidelines and issues in connection with corporate blogs, third-party social media platforms and mobile applications.  He is the co-founder and co-editor of Socially Aware, a blog (www.sociallyawareblog.com) and award-winning newsletter (www.mofo.com/sociallyaware/) devoted to the law and business of social media.
