Jennifer Murphy is Director, Northwestern Mutual Investment Services (NMIS) Home Office Supervision and Administration. In this role, Mrs. Murphy is a member of the NMIS Executive Committee, NMIS Operations Committee, and the NMIS Investment Products and Programs Committee. Prior to this role, Mrs. Murphy was an Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary in the law department of The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. In the law department, Mrs. Murphy focused on Securities Regulation; Broker-Dealer Regulation; Investment Company Regulation; and Investment Advisory Regulation.
Mrs. Murphy joined Northwestern Mutual in September 2002. Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Mrs. Murphy worked in the Enforcement Division of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in the Midwest Regional Office from 1995 to 1999. In November 1999, she joined the Financial Services Litigation Group at Gardner, Carton & Douglas in Chicago, Illinois.
Mrs. Murphy graduated with a B.S. in International Affairs from the University of Virginia in 1992 and with a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1995.
Jennifer and her husband Brian have three children and live in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
