Dr. Jennifer Marietta-Westberg graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Finance. She was an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University from 2000 through 2006. In August 2006, she took a position as a Visiting Scholar at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She is now the Assistant Director of the Office of Investments and Intermediaries in the Division of Risk, Strategy, and Financial Innovation at the SEC. Her research interests include initial public offerings, universal banking, and the investments industry. The Office of Investments and Intermediaries covers issues related to financial institutions, broker-dealers, investment managers, analysts affiliated with registered intermediaries and credit-rating agencies.
