Jennifer Friedman is the Supervising Immigration Attorney in the Civil Action Practice at The Bronx Defenders. She has been practicing immigration law at Bronx Defenders since 2007, where she conducts plea consults with non-citizen clients from the criminal defense practice regarding the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, consultations with non-citizen clients from the family defense practice and from the community, and represents non-citizens in removal proceedings.
Jennifer has helped train public defenders in New York City as well as across the country on immigration consequences of criminal convictions and working with immigration advocates to avoid or mitigate the immigration impact. Jennifer joined Bronx Defenders after graduating from NYU Law where she was in the Immigrants Rights Clinic and interned at the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project.
