Irv Becker is the National Practice Leader of our Executive Compensation Practice. He works with Boards and senior management in the design and development of reward programs to align executive efforts and results with the success of the company. His financial background provides him with a grounded perspective on performance measurement and performance management. For the last four years, Irv has been included on the Directorship 100, a list published by Directorship magazine recognizing the most influential people who are shaping agendas and corporate governance issues in boardrooms across America.
Prior to joining Hay Group, Inc., Irv was the National Practice Leader for Executive Compensation Consulting at a Big 4 Accounting and Tax Firm. During his combined 10 years at this firm, over two time periods, Irv worked with numerous clients to assist them with developing overall reward philosophies, as well as more specific Executive Compensation programs.
Irv also has 10 years of in-house corporate experience heading up the Compensation and Benefits functions at Goldman Sachs, Bank One/First USA Bank, The Home Depot and Young & Rubicam.

Irv has experience working with organizations in a variety of business situations. He has worked with companies involved with initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as helped organizations develop new reward philosophies and approaches to support a major change in business direction.
Irv is a frequent speaker on Executive Compensation topics and has been quoted in numerous notable publications.
Education and Affiliations
Irv received his Master's of Business Administration in Finance from Columbia Business School and has a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts. Irv is a licensed CPA in New York State.
