Hugh Sullivan


Education

Hugh graduated from The University of  Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in 1980. He received his MPPM from the Yale School of Management 1982.

Banking Experience

Hugh is based in Chicago and leads Midwest Investment Banking for Morgan Stanley. He joined Morgan Stanley in London in November 2010 with 29 years of experience in investment banking and manufacturing.

He came to the firm from Merrill Lynch, where he led investment banking relationships with a number of the firm's largest clients and held a variety of leadership positions, including Head of Global Industrials, Co-Head of Americas Origination (investment banking, debt and equity capital markets), Head of Technology Investment Banking and, most recently, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic Region.

Hugh began his investment banking career in The First Boston Corporation's Mergers and Acquisitions Group. In 1992, he led the buyout of Kalfact Plastics Company, a plastic injection molder serving the automotive, appliance and office furniture industries. Hugh was an owner and CEO of Kalfact Plastics Company until he joined Merrill Lynch in 1997. He has served as a director of Briggs Industries, Inc., Blodgett Oven Company and Interstate Brands Corporation.
