Herb Listen is an Audit Partner in Ernst & Young's Energy practice with 20 years of public accounting experience, specializing in providing services to domestic and multi-national companies in the Oil & Gas and Power & Utilities industries with a specialization in energy marketing and trading.
He serves as an audit partner for multiple energy clients in the Houston market and has deep experience serving energy companies, including companies with significant multinational operations. He is also a member of the National office Professional Practice Group.
Herb is a key member of EY's Americas Oil & Gas Center; responsible for publishing industry thought leadership and technical accounting guidance, as well as training, for internal and external distribution. Additionally, he has served as Service line co-leader for EY's Energy Trading and Risk Management Practice and current serves as the sub-area leader of the Climate Change and Sustainability practice.
He served as Resident member of the firm's National Accounting Standards group in New York from 2001 through 2003, where he focused on technical accounting and auditing issues in the areas of energy trading, derivatives, hedge accounting, consolidations and structured finance.
Herb earned his BS in Accounting from Oral Roberts University in 1992 and completed the Executive Training Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business in 2009.
Herb is a member of the AICPA and is licensed in Texas and Oklahoma. He is a Board member of Boys and Girls Country of Houston.
