Gregory Messer, a principal in The Law Office of Gregory M. Messer, has been practicing bankruptcy law for over 30 years. He represents business and consumer debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters.
Mr. Messer has been a member of the standing panel of Chapter 7 trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York since 1980. He has served as Chapter 11 trustee, post-confirmation trustee, and plan administrator in various bankruptcy cases.
Mr. Messer is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Bankruptcy Institute, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy topics for the Practicing Law Institute, the New York City Bar Association, and the Brooklyn Bar Association. He has been named as a Super Lawyer for his expertise in bankruptcy (2010-2012).
Mr. Messer has received numerous awards for his representation of indigent clients. Mr. Messer presently serves as a board member and treasurer of the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project.
