Gary Hourihan is a Senior Vice President at Farient Advisors. Mr. Hourihan has nearly 35 years of consulting experience focused on compensation, organization, leadership, and talent management. Mr. Hourihan advises clients across a broad spectrum of issues and industries. His particular areas of expertise include pay strategy, organizational structure and process, compensation and incentive plan design, performance measurement, and leadership and talent evaluation, with the overall objective of supporting business strategy, value creation, and shareholder interests.
Prior to joining Farient, Mr. Hourihan was founder and Chairman of Korn/Ferry's Leadership & Talent Consulting Group, co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of SCA Consulting, and a Partner at Booz, Allen & Hamilton where he led the firm's organization and strategy implementation practice for its Western region.
Mr. Hourihan has been frequently quoted in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Economist, and The Los Angeles Times, and has co-authored an article for Harvard Business Review. He also is a frequent guest lecturer at USC's Marshall School of Business, The London School of Business, and other leading business schools. He is a member of the 100 Club of Los Angeles, an organization consisting of the area's business leaders.
Mr. Hourihan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business, a License en Economique Appliqué from the University of Louvain, Belgium, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University.
