Ellen Sinreich is a deeply experienced real estate attorney celebrated by clients for her unique blend of legal, real estate, entrepreneurial and sustainability expertise. The Simon Property Group, The Related Companies, PaineWebber, The Dreyfus Corporation, The FDIC, the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Pyramid Companies and Footlocker, among others, have turned to Ellen to structure, negotiate, document and close over $15 billion of transactions throughout the United States.

After receiving top honors at Columbia Law School and practicing law at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York City, Ellen founded Sinreich & Associates, a real estate law firm with a national scope. At Sinreich & Associates, Ellen and her team of attorneys assisted public and private sector clients in connection with the acquisition, development, leasing, financing and disposition of real estate.

After a decade at the helm of Sinreich & Associates, Ellen focused her formidable talents on a new challenge: building a real estate operating company. As a senior executive and general counsel at DLC Management Corporation, Ellen was instrumental in DLC’s growth from 25 properties to over 100. While at DLC, Ellen recognized that the need to implement climate change solutions would transform the real estate industry. Thus a new call to action propelled Ellen to achieve LEED Accredited Professional status and develop tools to enable the real estate industry to green the built environment.

Ellen is now representing select clients on a national basis with their real estate transactional needs. Her considerable legal and real estate know-how is enhanced by an in-depth understanding of how to reposition real estate assets and companies to improve bottom line results, public-private partnerships, carbon footprint reduction regulations and risk mitigation.

In addition to her work on behalf of clients, Ellen is on the faculty of New York University and has lectured at the Wharton School of Business, Georgetown Law School and the NYC Bar Association. She created and chaired the Practising Law Institute’s Green Real Estate Summit; is the Private Sector Chair of the International Council of Shopping Center’s New York Alliance Committee; and is a member, and former chair, of the Urban Land Institute’s CRC Gold Council. A prolific writer and thought leader, Ellen has published numerous articles and white papers on a variety of legal and real estate topics.
