Debra Rade is the founder of Rade Law LLC and Rade Consulting LLC with offices in Deerfield, Illinois. In these respective firms, she applies her unique multidisciplinary background that combines more than 20 years of senior executive c-suite experience and legal practice in corporate law, corporate governance and compliance, product safety and regulatory compliance, and not for profit law.
Debra served as the chief legal officer of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), a leading global American-based testing, inspection and certification organization for more than 13 years. During that time, she also held several other leadership roles, including senior vice president and chief administrative officer responsible for several business divisions, operations and communications. After leaving UL she was a partner at a large national firm for several years in the corporate department.
She is a frequent speaker on corporate compliance, ethics and board issues. She has been a member of the Practising Law Institute's faculty at the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Institutes in 2007-09, 2011-13. She has enjoyed teaching Legal Ethics as adjunct professor of law at Northwestern University School of Law since 1998.
Debra served as a non-executive (independent) director on the board of Intertek Group plc, headquartered in London, U.K., and traded on the London Stock Exchange (ITRK-L) from 2005-2012. Intertek is a global testing, inspection and certification organization prominently ranked within the FTSE 100 index.
