David Ruder

David Ruder is Vice President of Corporate Development at RPX Corporation.  He was part of the original Business Development team at RPX at its funding and helped build its acquisition and client development processes. He later developed strategic relationships with several companies and joined the newly developed Corporate Development group where he led the development of RPX's patent litigation insurance business including securing financial commitments from reinsurers. Currently he focuses on growth opportunities for RPX and RPX Risk Retention Group, the Company's wholly-owned insurance captive.

Prior to RPX Mr. Ruder worked at the earliest stages of several pioneering intellectual property businesses, including River West Brands (trademarks), Ocean Tomo (IP brokerage and M&A), and Altitude Capital Partners (patent litigation investments)

Mr.  Ruder has experience as an investment banker on Wall Street and as an IP attorney with a major law firm in Chicago. He received his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business, his JD from the Northwestern University School of Law, and his BA from Williams College.
