David J. Mangefrida, Jr., Senior Vice President and Director of Tax for Calamos Invesments since February 2007, is responsible for the investment tax and corporate tax areas at Calamos. Prior to joining Calamos Dave was the CEO of B Squared Trading Advisors, LLC, a managed futures CTA. Dave also has been a Partner with Ernst & Young, LLP in the Financial Services Industry Group in the National Tax Department, based in Washington, DC, and the firm's Director of Asset Management Tax Services. In that role, Dave provided technical assistance to clients and offices on the taxation of regulated investment companies (mutual funds), real estate investment trusts (REITs), securities partnerships, and other pooled investment vehicles.
He has a B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law.
Before joining E&Y, he was the assistant counsel-tax for the Investment Company Institute, responsible for tax matters affecting investment companies, including international and foreign taxation, complex financial instruments, and state and local tax.
Dave is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Taxation, Investment Companies Committee, and a member of the ICI Tax Committee and its Tax Advisory Group. He also is a member of the District of Columbia and the New York Bar Associations.
