David N. Brown is a Senior Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Covington & Burling, where his practice involves various aspects of corporate and securities law. He has advised life insurance companies, general agencies, and producer groups regarding the federal securities laws as they relate to variable products. He has also advised private equity fund sponsors regarding the formation of funds and the application of federal securities laws to their operations. He has focused recently on privately placed variable life insurance. Mr. Brown received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his law degree from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Bar of the District of Columbia and the American Bar Association.
