Dana H. Freyer is an arbitrator and retired Partner of the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where she was head of the Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution and Corporate Compliance Program practice groups. She has served as sole arbitrator, chair or party-appointed arbitrator in both domestic and international arbitrations and, while at Skadden, represented major corporations in all types of U.S. and international commercial arbitrations, including arbitrations under ICC, AAA International, UNCITRAL, ICSID and other major rule systems. She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She has repeatedly been listed by Chambers Global and Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, International Who's Who of Commercial Lawyers and Business Lawyers and others as one of the world's leading lawyers in international arbitration. She has been named by the National Law Journal as one of the 50 top women litigators in America and by Global Arbitration Review as one of "The All-Female Top 30" arbitrators world wide. She has published numerous articles and lectures frequently on international arbitration topics. Ms. Freyer is an Adviser on the American Law Institute's Restatement of the U.S. Law of International Commercial Arbitration project. She is a founder and Chair of the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Global Partnership for Afghanistan. From 1965 to 1968 she was assistant to the Afghanistan Ambassador to the United Nations in his capacities as Ambassador and President of the U.N. General Assembly. She has traveled extensively in Afghanistan.
