Cheryl A. Kelly is a partner with Thompson Coburn LLP (a 400 attorney Firm with offices in St. Louis, Missouri, Chicago, and Belleville, Illinois and Washington, D.C.). She has substantial experience representing lenders and borrowers in complicated real estate finance transactions. Her particular area of expertise is in representing secured creditors in foreclosures, receiverships and other proceedings commenced to enforce creditors' rights, and in workouts, bankruptcies and reorganizations. Ms. Kelly additionally has experience representing debtors in Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings. She received her B.S. degree, in Physical Therapy, magna cum laude, from St. Louis University, and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from St. Louis University School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association (and the Chair of the Real Property Section’s Committee on Workout, Foreclosures and Bankruptcy Committee), a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (and Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee), a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, and a member of each of the Missouri Bar, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and admitted to practice in various Federal courts. She has also been named to the “Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer” list annually since 2005, and was named to the “Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer” list of top 50 women attorneys in Missouri in 2009.
