Champ Davis is a partner in Davis McGrath, LLC., a Chicago firm that engages primarily in general commercial litigation, as well as litigation and transactional work involving intellectual property and technical matters, including computer-related matters.
He also actively participates in alternative dispute resolution by serving as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association; as a member of the Cook County major case mediation panel, and as past Chair and a current member of the ISBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council. He is also an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law where he teaches "Negotiations".
His background and interest in Ethics includes his service as a member of the Hearing Board of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, a position he has held since 1987. He is currently the Chair of the Hearing Board. He is a past-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Professional Responsibility Committee - - a CBA Service Committee whose primary function is to render opinions on ethics matters, and a former member of the Joint ISBA/CBA Ethics 2000 Committee which reviewed the new ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and made recommendations to the Ilinois Supreme Court with respect to the adoption of new Rules in Illinois. He is a current member of the ISBA Professional Conduct Committee.
