WAGE AND HOUR EXPERTISE
Ms. Gonell has advised clients with respect to compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, state wage payment statutes, and other wage and hour requirements. She has extensive experience litigating FLSA and state wage claims, including both collective and class actions and individual FLSA and wage and hour claims, in jurisdictions around the country. She has defeated class certification and helped negotiate favorable settlements of FLSA and state wage and hour actions, including in cases involving claims relating to exemption misclassification, off the clock work, deductions, expense reimbursements, independent contractor classification, minimum wage, and payroll compliance issues.
Her experience also includes conducting comprehensive internal and Department of Labor audits involving interviews of dozens of supervisors and managers to assist clients in properly classifying their employees as exempt or non-exempt from the applicable wage and hour requirements.
