Barry W. Lee
Mr. Lee's practice focuses on commercial litigation. He has extensive trial experience and has handled numerous jury and bench trials encompassing a variety of subject matter areas, including banking/lender liability, antitrust/unfair competition, environmental, securities, construction/real estate, products liability, and insurance coverage.
He was co-lead counsel with Robert A. Zeavin in Manattfs successful representation of ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Limited, against The Boeing Company and its Boeing Satellite Systems International subsidiary, which resulted in the largest total damages award in the U.S. for 2008. The jury's award to ICO, with interest and punitive damages, is expected to exceed $700 million for fraud, tortious interference and breach of contract.
Mr. Lee has been a contributing author to an antitrust treatise and has authored numerous articles and appeared as a speaker for the Practicing Law Institute on various topics, including directors' and officers' liability, professional liability insurance for lawyers and accountants, and antitrust.
Prior to joining Manatt, Mr. Lee was a partner and Chairman of a San Francisco based firm.
