Arthur M. Nathan is a partner in Haynes and Boone, LLP where he specializes in mergers and acquisitions, business and tax planning, and other transactional matters. He has more than 36 years of experience in structuring, negotiating and handling mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, leveraged buyouts, tax-free reorganizations, private equity, partnership and limited liability company transactions and corporate split ups. Arthur has extensive experience in buying and selling businesses. He is a member of Haynes and Boone's board of directors and serves as the Firm's Practice Management Partner. In that role, Arthur is heavily involved with alternative fee arrangements, project budgeting, project management and related functions. He has taught courses in both Business Planning and Advanced Corporate Taxation at the University of Houston Law School as an Adjunct Professor for longer than he or the law school care to remember. Arthur was honored in the transaction that won the 2010 M&A Advisor International Award and has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in Corporate/M&A in Texas in 2010 and 2011. He has also been named one of The Best Lawyers in America - Tax Law and selected by Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Tax Advisers in the United States. He was recently the Co-Author of "New Areas of Focus in M&A Due Diligence," a chapter in Inside the Minds, Business Due Diligence Strategies, published by Aspatore Books (2010) and has published numerous other articles.
