Arnold M. Quittner, who is of counsel to the Los Angeles firm of Peitzman, Weg & Kempinsky LLP, has long been recognized as one of the leading bankruptcy lawyers in the United States. For many years, he was a name partner in the Los Angeles firm of Gendel, Raskoff, Shapiro & Quittner. After the dissolution of that firm, he was a partner in the Los Angeles office of the New York firm, Strook & Strook & Lavan and then of counsel to Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl, Young, Jones & Weintraub, P.C.
In recent years, his practice has focused on international insolvency matters, with an emphasis on Asia. He has become an advisor on insolvency matters for a number of governments and has lectured for, among other organizations, the World Jurist Association, the International Law Association, INSOL India, the American Bar Association, the World Bank Global Judges Forum the Asian Institute of International Financial Law Symposium, the Shanghai Bar Association, China University of Politics and Law, Tokyo University, Faculty of Law, Chuo University (Japan), Hong Kong University, Zhongshan University (Guangzhou, China), as well as Harvard Law School, New York University Law School, Adilet School of Law (Kazakhstan), Ewha University (Seoul, Korea), University College, Oxford University, and the University of London, Queen Mary College.
