Anne R. Garr co-heads the Real Estate and Land Use Practice Group and is a member of the firm's Diversity Committee. Ms. Garr previously served as the co-chair of the firm's Women's Leadership Council.
Ms. Garr has a broad range of experience in general real estate matters and is responsible for the day-to-day counseling of the firm's real estate and banking clients. A significant portion of her practice involves the representation of developers of commercial and mixed-use developments. Her responsibilities include operating entity formation and capitalization, project financing, construction contracting, investor relations, project planning and project documentation. Ms. Garr also represents clients, on a national basis, in the acquisition, financing and leasing of office properties, retail centers and other real property assets.
In 2008, Ms. Garr was profiled as one of "40 Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch" in a publication by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company (publisher of the
Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and
Chicago Lawyer). Ms. Garr also was selected by her peers as a 2009 Leading Lawyer in Land Use, Zoning and Condemnation Law; Real Estate Law: Commercial; and Real Estate Law: Finance.
Prior to joining Freeborn & Peters LLP, Ms. Garr was an Equity Partner at Lord Bissell & Brook (now Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP) and was the chair of the Hiring Committee.
