Anita Shapiro is Vice President of Programs with the Practising Law Institute. She is responsible for content development and business procedures used in offering the more than 300 programs annually presented by PLI. As such she oversees the Program Attorney and Program Administrative staff as well as the California PLI Center. Additionally, she manages the Patent Bar Review Division of PLI. Prior to her position as Vice President, she was a Program Attorney with PLI handling program development in the Intellectual Property and Securities law areas. Prior to her positions with PLI, Anita served as the Litigation Business Development and Marketing Director at Mayer Brown LLP in New York City as well as Vice President of Intralinks, a New York City based company providing secure electronic document distribution services to the financial services community. Prior to her position with Intralinks, Anita was a Senior Account Manager with Thomsen/West (Westlaw Division) and was responsible for instructing lawyers on best practices in electronic legal and non-legal research. She practiced as a litigator in New York City after receiving her J.D. from Temple University School of Law. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the ABA Business Law Section, and the Association of Continuing Legal Education and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Anita is a member of the New York Bar.
