Alexandra (Alex) Cole, a partner with the law firm of Perkins Coie, has spent nearly three decades in the real estate industry focusing her legal practice on commercial real estate transactions and development, including hospitality, international real estate, project finance and construction law. She is instrumentally involved in large real estate acquisitions (hotel, office and retail) and has represented all the various parties in the construction and development process. Based in Chicago, Alex has played in integral role in the development, construction and financing of some of Chicago's landmark developments including the Illinois Center, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Harold Washington Library, and the McCormick Place Expansion and Hotel. In addition, she has represented Optima, Inc. in their development of luxury residential properties in and around Chicago and Phoenix. Alex also represents many owners in their hotel acquisition and management contract negotiations. Some of Alex's other significant projects include: Four Seasons Aviara, Park Hyatt Australia, The Carlyle, Fairmont Hotel and Canadian Pacific Hotel merger, Underwater World at Pier 39 and the construction and renovation of numerous plants, industrial complexes, hotels, shopping centers and other commercial projects in the United States and Europe.
