Michael J. Segal is a partner in the Executive Compensation and Benefits practice of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. He has over 25 years of experience in counseling clients with respect to their compensation and benefit programs, including in connection with corporate mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other private and public business combinations. He also represents employers and executives in entering and exiting CEO and other senior-level employment relationships, and assists clients with the ERISA aspects of employee benefit plans and the establishment and maintenance of private equity and hedge funds.
Mr. Segal has been included for many years as a Leading Individual in Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation (New York) as published by Chambers USA, and in Best Lawyers in America, New York Super Lawyers, New York Magazine's list of New York Area Best Lawyers and several similar listings.
Mr. Segal received his B.S. in Accounting from The Ohio State University cum laude in 1980 and his J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1983. He is a frequent speaker on employee benefits and executive compensation topics.
