Howard L. Shecter is Senior M&A Partner at Reed Smith LLP. Previously, Howard served as Chairman, as Managing Partner and as Head of the Global Business & Finance Practice of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Howard is the founder and was for 10 years the Chairman of the Practising Law Institute seminar on "Acquiring or Selling the Privately-Held Company". His practice focuses on a variety of domestic and international business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (negotiated and hostile), and joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as corporate governance issues and the negotiated resolution of business disputes.
Howard is internationally recognized both for his wide-ranging M&A experience, and his extensive experience advising on securities compliance and corporate governance/board oversight matters. He has lectured globally at leading conferences on issues related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and governance.
