Deborah F. Truhowsky
BACKGROUND:
Deborah attended New York University where she earned her B.A. degree in 1985. Excited by the opportunity to practice law in the area, she remained on the East coast where, in 1988, she completed her J.D. degree at Hofstra University School of Law. That same year Ms. Truhowsky was admitted to the bar in New York and Connecticut. Deborah then completed a Masters of Law degree in Business and Taxation from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and in 1990 she was admitted to the U.S. District Court in the Southem and Eastern Districts of New York.
MEMBERSHIPS:
Deborah is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Ms. Truhowsky currently serves as Vice President, lst Department for the Academy of Trial Lawyers and previously served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association from 1998-2001. Ms. Truhowsky regularly lectures n Nursing Home Neglect and is Vice Presidento of the Long Term Care Community Coalition's Board of Directors. Pursuing her goal to foster consumer rights and streamlinel egal disputes, Ms. Truhowsky has served as Lecturero n Consumer Rights, as well as Lecturer for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Seminar for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Ms. Truhowsky is also a frequent lecturer on Ethics.
From 2001-2003 and 2005, Ms. Truhowsky chaired an Ethics Roundtable lecture series for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. She has also lectured on Liens in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death cases.
Deborah has been awarded the prestigious AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell. Ms.Truhowsky is also a member of The American Trial Lawyers Association's Top 100 Trial Lawyers.
PRACTICE AREAS:
Deborah presently concentrates her legal practice in the areas of Nursing Home and Hospital Neglect, Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury.
