Mark Chandler is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Cisco Systems, where he manages a 250-member team of professionals; he has served in that role since 2001. Prior to that, he was Managing Attorney, Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Paris. He joined Cisco in July, 1996 upon Cisco’s acquisition of StrataCom, Inc., where he had been General Counsel. He served as Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel of Maxtor Corporation, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of computer data storage devices, from 1988-1994.
Chandler is also member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Stanford Law School, The Board of Trustees of Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Mass., and the Advisory Council of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington. He previously served as Member and Chairman of the City of Palo Alto Planning Commission.
He received a BA in 1978 from Harvard College and a JD from Stanford Law School in 1981.
